Swirl is my most recent community collective art instillation that highlights the importance of community creation and collaborative efforts.  To breathe consciously is alchemy. To grieve presently is a revolution. “We do not want any affirmations unless they are rooted in decolonization and spiritual liberation.” We can not accept any less. Poetry is poison to an apartheid and through collective creation we are mobilized to move mountains. This collective is a community effort of creation bringing us back to the intimacy, vulnerability, and humanity of art making. How can we create without getting in our own way? How can we allow ourselves to become undone in order to build eachother back up? How can we work together to process the incredibly difficult reality that is now and that has been and will be? These artworks are guides through apathy directly to empathy itself. They call in the intelligence of plants, animals, and spirits of all kinds. How can we move back into our humanity without the safety of a spiritual net? To call in our primitive nature is to surrender. This world we have created has many spiritual beings present. Bringing energies from within the soil, the blood,  the sun, the sand, the poison, the kisses, the births, the tragedy, the high priestesses, the trees, the archetypes of self, the oceans and from death. Each person who contributes brings bloodlines of ancestral knowledge into the art and together we weave centuries of wisdom into one mind map. What happens when we accept that we do not know? Together we can explore any abyss; walk any line between space and time, and find beauty in every single sip of tea. We want to create a place where others can travel safely, to commune with peers, and to feel deeply vulnerable and held. Through all things is the omnipresent one, the swirl of creation. The entanglement of all that is. The mycelium under the soil. The life of death and the death of life. Through each of us is each other. Below you will see examples of the works and space we created.
